"Have you become the grown-up of your dreams?"
Film Society Lincoln Center says: “Forty years of Taiwanese history come to the surface in this tender yet powerful tale of nostalgia about one woman’s search for happiness. As her grandma passes away, a Taiwanese woman who settled in New York returns to her homeland. Reunion with family, classmates, and friends from childhood trigger her own introspection about what she left behind, sending her back to her youth during Taiwan’s period of political instability in the 1970s. With voiceover by renowned actress Gwei Lun-mei, this charming autobiographical animated film by first-time director Sung Hsin-yin gives insight into Taiwan’s political past.”
For one night only in Atlanta, not only will this award winning animated movie be played in a theater, director Sung, Hsin-Yin (宋欣穎) will be here in person. There will be a photo op with this amazing director, and an opportunity after the viewing to ask her questions about the movie. As a bonus, Taiwanese award-winning director Wei, De-sheng (魏德聖) will be at the event as well. He was a voice actor in this movie, helping to bring this animated movie to life.
The event ticket will include an opportunity to take pictures with the directors on the red carpet, a dinner catered by SMG at the theater, a seat to view this awesome movie in a theater setting, and a Q & A session after the movie with both directors. (Dress code: Business casual is recommanded.)
